Late in 1974, the CAF's B-29 was christened FIFI and joined the other World War II fighters and bombers to continue the CAF mandate "to preserve the memories and teach of lessons of mankind's greatest war." *FIFI* was acquired by the CAF in the early 1970s when a group of CAF members found her at the U.S. Navy Proving Ground at China Lake, California where she was being used as a missile target. Fifi, sometimes appearing as fifi-bag, has been found in prison slang throughout the US since at least 1972. It means “vaginas” constructed out of everyday materials used for masturbation. As one of only two B-29 bombers in flying condition, FIFI serves not only as a rare piece of aviation history but also as a moving tribute to those who built and flew these aircraft during the Second World War.
